J.A.R Kenya commenced operations in July 1997 with a workforce of 400 employees. Since then, manufacturing capacity has more than quadrupled, and the workforce has grown to nearly 2,000 employees.
The plant is located in the Sameer Industrial Park just outside Nairobi, an enclosed industrial area with excellent services and security, considered the prime industrial spot in Kenya. The factory is under one roof with 125,000 square feet. Current capacity is 120,000 pieces.
J.A.R manufactures denim jeans, shorts and skirts of various styles, including but not limited to: carpenter jeans and shorts; side slit shorts; rolled cuff shorts; button fly shorts; bottom fray shorts and various fits of 5 pocket classic jeans - in all types of wet processing treatments, including heavy stone wash, super-soft finishes, genuine sand-blast finishes, hand sanding. spraying, and pasting.
J.A.R. manufactures garments of fabrics ranging from 10 oz to 14.75 oz of denims and other chief-weight cotton piece goods.
Approximately 500,000 yards of rolling fabric inventory of various types is maintained to support continuous, quick-response production.
During the second half of 2000, the factory has ventured into team manufacturing, striving to achieve world standards in the clothing industry. Our focus is on customer satisfaction by providing AAA quality garments and timely delivery. With this backdrop we lay great emphasis on employee training, development and motivation. We provide video training, and employ on-the-job training methods.
